Winter is here! With the cold weather we encourage parents to come inside to our comfortable and warm waiting area; there's no need to sit in your car and wait. Coffee / tea and free WiFi are always available.

We have already had a couple of snow storms causing lesson cancellations, much earlier than we expected... and there is another snowfall coming imminently. Lessons will be made up if at all possible, and our winter break beginning in two weeks should avoid future storms entirely.

Make up lessons will be offered by invitation on Saturday December 16 and Monday December 18. A time will be arranged personally with each student. This is in addition to the scheduled make up week in June.

Parent/student portal update

This past spring our studio management system received an update, and the parent/student portal was redesigned to make it easier to use with a smartphone or tablet. This update may result in your login email not being recognized. If this happens, please contact us and we will send a new login message.

The update also includes new security features, and at this time adding or updating a stored credit card can only be done by students or parents.

Text messages

We can now be contacted by text messages as well as email or phone. This is sensitive information that is available to students and parents by logging in.

Hello parents and music students!

Fall is just around the corner and school is starting. It is our pleasure to welcome you back to music lessons which will begin again on Saturday September 9th, and we want to let everyone know of some important changes for this year.

Semesters

This year the lessons will be provided in two semesters of 14 weeks each, September to December and March to June. This will give us all a break during the winter without the challenges of snow and ice, avoiding most of the storm days. Fall lessons will commence on Saturday September 9, 2023 and Spring lessons will begin on Monday March 11, 2024.

Fees and Billing dates

The fees will now be billed on the 10th day of each month instead of on the 1st, and the discounted 4-payment plan is being replaced with a six-payment plan ( 3 monthly payments each semester ).

The 9-payment plan will still be offered with monthly billings September to May, and will require automatic payments by credit card. Students currently on 9 equal payments with no card on file will be moved to the six payment plan.

Pre-registration

Parents will be contacted personally by phone between Labour Day and the start of lessons to schedule your lesson time. If you wish to change your weekly lesson time, here is a link to a form to let us know your preferred choice before we call. Please also use this form if you aren’t going to continue lessons in the fall.
